THEME = double plays: question & answer

Now, special presentations start, beginning with double plays. I spun this 1st entry on my college & brokered radio shows on Elgin IL’s WRMN. Like the TV game show “Jeopardy!”, though, the answer hit the airwaves before the question….

#1 (the question)
Heart released this in 1993 as the 1st single from their 11th studio album ‘Desire Walks On’. Written by veteran songwriter-producer Robert John “Mutt” Lange, this song peaked in 1994 at #39 on the Billboard Hot 100, #15 on the Adult Contemporary & #10 on the Mainstream Rock Tracks charts. 4 years later, the country band Blackhawk covered the song on their ‘Love & Gravity’ album (1997).

#2 (the answer)
6 years earlier, this Dan Seals’ tune debuted 03/07/1987, spent 19 weeks on the country charts & claimed #1. It was his 5th straight chart topper, a string that would stretch to 9 straight. Seals had originally been part of the England Dan & John Ford Coley duo.
