While I had road tripped in 2002 (minor to the Nashville TN area) & 2003 (east, including Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, Tennessee & Kentucky), my October 2004 road trip holds a special place for me as it was my 1st solo venture out west. I’d traveled to the west coast with family as a kid, but this was my 1st time driving west by myself … & I loved it. The sparking factor for such a road trip was a “family reunion” for valve replacement patients over a weekend in Golden CO, which is where this photo was taken:

That 1972 MC is owned by OC,SHer MICKEY S. She & her husband, Dave, & another couple met me in Colorado on Saturday afternoon; we all went to lunch & feasted on oven-cooked pizza. Sadly, I do not remember who took this photo; that’s me in the brown jacket with my back to the camera.
