Today starts a 3-part series (in this theme) sparked by photos taken by OC,SHer DOUG T at Country Classic Cars (Staunton IL) in 2014.

This iconic emblem is for the Chevrolet Impala, which debuted in 1958 & was produced uninterrupted until 1985. It returned in sedan SS form only for a short 3-year stint, 1994-1996. Then, the name was slapped on the redesigned front-wheel-drive Celebrity-Lumina sedan for the 2000 model year, with that W-body version lasting until 2013. In 2014, a newer front-wheel-drive sedan was introduced. The name is derived from the African antelope of the same name.
