Talking Heads formed in New York City NY in 1975 & was active until 1991. Members included David Byrne, Chris Frantz, Tina Weymouth & Jerry Harrison. This song was released July 1983 as the 1st single from their 5th studio album ’Speaking In Tongues’. This single, considered their signature tune, peaked at #9 on the Billboard Hot 100 & #6 on the Mainstream Rock Tracks charts; internationally, it notched at #8 in Canada & #5 in New Zealand. It was also featured in the TV series “NUMB3RS”. Other songs by this band include 1978’s “Take Me To The River”, 1985’s “Road To Nowhere”, 1985’s “& She Was” & 1986’s “Wild Wild Life”.

They Might Be Giants formed in Massachusetts in 1982 by John Flansburgh & John Linnell. This song was released in 1989 as the 1st single from the band’s 3rd album ‘Flood’. This single peaked at #3 on the Modern Rock Tracks chart & #6 in England; a cover version was featured in an episode of TV’s “Pushing Daisies”. The band’s other 3 songs charting in the United States are 1988’s “Ana Ng” (#11), 1990’s “Twisting” (#22) & 1994’s “Snail Shell” (#19). Their cover version of “Instanbul (Not Constantinople)” charted at #61 in England.
