  1. The pictures show clearly how little AMC was short on $$ for product development. The 4-year-old Ambassador body clearly shows it’s age against the second-year cars from the ‘big 3’. An all-new ‘big car’ body would debut for ’67, but by then AMC was all but out of the ‘family car’ (mid-sizes/full-sized) battle, concentrating on smaller cars.
