This image (& all exterior shots for the series) were filmed in my home town, Elgin IL. Dino’s Foods, seen here, has since closed due to fires; it was located on Summit Street (IL RT 58) near the intersection of Dundee Avenue. The series starred Brett Butler in the title role & featured Dave Thomas (guest-starred in a 2001 episode of “That ‘70s Show”), Julie White, Casey Sander, Walter Olkewicz, Charles Hallahan (“Hunter”), Valri Bromfield & Peggy Rea (“The Dukes Of Hazzard”, Lulu), among others.  “GUF” is 1 of several 1990s comedies (including “Empty Nest”, “Spin City” & “The Drew Carey Show”) picked up by the new (as of 04/15/2015) classic TV network, LAFF.
